The 2025 Better Design Award has officially launched globally in May, marking another exciting chapter in this annual design extravaganza set to showcase a new wave of outstanding creative works.
As the organizer, the Shenzhen Industrial Design Industry Association has been diligently advancing a wide range of detailed tasks in preparation for the judging process. The first online preliminary review meeting was successfully held on the afternoon of August 18.

The Better Design Award (BDA) is an internationally recognized, comprehensive design competition established under the guidance of China Media Group, the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government, and Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government.

International Jury
BDA has established an international jury pool, a scientific evaluation mechanism, and robust internal and external supervision procedures. The judging process operates under a co-chaired dual presidency system, with one Chinese and one international authority in the design field.
Expert juries are formed for each competition category across the preliminary, secondary, and final review stages. Through a fair and professional evaluation process conducted in accordance with established criteria, the award winners are selected from participants worldwide.
